Complete Life Journey
Sai Laddi Shah Ji
Sai Laddi Shah Ji (Sai Ghulam Shah Ji) was a true fakir of Nakodar, known for his humility, simplicity, and deep devotion. As the spiritual successor of Baba Murad Shah Ji, he carried forward his master’s mission of spreading love, peace, and service to humanity. His life was a divine journey that continues to inspire millions of devotees even today.
Sai Laddi Shah Ji was born as Ghulam Shah Ji. From his early childhood, he displayed qualities that set him apart — compassion for others, a natural attraction towards spirituality, and a complete detachment from worldly desires. His heart always inclined towards saints, prayers, and service to mankind.
Becoming the Spiritual Successor
When Baba Murad Shah Ji left the world at a very young age, it was Sai Laddi Shah Ji who took responsibility of the Dera at Nakodar. With unwavering devotion, he preserved the legacy of his master and ensured that the flame of spirituality never dimmed.
He built the Darbar in the memory of Baba Murad Shah Ji and made the Dera a home for all — where no caste, creed, or religion mattered. His presence drew thousands of devotees who found peace, guidance, and blessings in his company.
Life of Service and Devotion
Sai Laddi Shah Ji lived a life of fakiri — free from ego, greed, or materialism. His teachings and actions were always centered around:
Helping the poor and needy
Supporting families in distress
Encouraging honesty and truthfulness
Promoting love and brotherhood among all
He continued the tradition of reciting Heer by Waris Shah, a practice started by Baba Murad Shah Ji, symbolizing devotion, simplicity, and connection with the Divine. His Darbar was open to people from every background, making the Dera a true symbol of interfaith harmony.
Annual Urs – A Festival of Devotion
Under Sai Laddi Shah Ji’s guidance, the annual Urs (Barsi Mela) of Baba Murad Shah Ji and Sai Laddi Shah Ji became one of the most celebrated spiritual gatherings in Punjab. Every year, lakhs of devotees from across India and abroad come to Nakodar to offer prayers, attend qawwali nights, and experience the divine blessings of the saints.
During these Urs celebrations, the atmosphere becomes filled with music, devotion, and the spirit of unity. Renowned Punjabi singer Gurdas Maan Ji, a beloved disciple of Sai Laddi Shah Ji, continues to dedicate his music and seva to the shrine, carrying forward Baba Ji’s mission through his art.
Final Journey
On 1st May 2008, Sai Laddi Shah Ji left his physical form and merged with the eternal.
